  • Sugaring has quite the learning curve! It can take several months to become comfortable and proficient, especially with all services, including facial and brazilian. Your clients' experiences will vary greatly based on your technique. To maximize your investment and benefit from your training, it's essential to practice extensively right after your training.

As you continue your journey towards becoming a skilled sugarist, you will face moments of discouragement and even a few tears, but don’t fear! The Guru Academy is here to hold your hand through the process. Every sticky situation teaches you something new about the method, improving your knowledge one flick at a time. We offer unmatched support and provide all the tools you need to feel confident and succeed professionally, so you can deliver high-quality, luxury hair removal and attract more clients.

  • Enroll in a professional course taught by experienced educators and endorsed by a reputable organization. Practice as much as possible. Watch videos of yourself practicing to identify areas you can improve.

Many unqualified individuals market themselves as educators without the necessary credentials. Protect yourself and your investment by doing thorough research. You deserve proper training to master this challenging craft effectively. Your clients will appreciate it, and it will fast-track your success!

Browsing YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook vs a trusted program can hinder your progress by teaching improper techniques and fostering bad habits.

  • Guru Sugaring Academy (GSU) does not require the purchase of a kit to earn a certificate. All necessary products are provided during class, and we offer a list of recommended professional sugaring companies that provide discounts to our alumni.

However, we recommend having your own products for practice before, during, and after the class to maximize retention of the training.

ABOUT SUGARING

  • Sugaring is a method of all natural hair removal made of sugar, lemon and water. It is applied opposite the growth of the hair and removed in the same direction of the hair growth. When performed correctly, there is less discomfort than any other method of hair removal and the smoothest, longest lasting results with little to no irritation.

  • No. Clients will still feel a sting of the root of the hair coming out of the tiny pore but they will no longer have to experience the lasting, burning sensation that results from a hot, resin based wax that grabs a little live skin with every pass.

  • Sugaring is an ancient Egyptian method that dates back to the days of Cleopatra and the Pharaohs.

Hieroglyphics indicate that appearing before royalty with any body or head hair was considered unclean.  It is believed that sugaring was discovered by a mistake in the kitchen, experimenting with hair removal. Traditionally, women would gather monthly in the home to remove each other's body hair in Egyptian cultures.

  • Our courses do not grant legal permission to offer sugaring services. Please ensure you check your state’s legal requirements for offering such services.
